About Us

Great Outdoors is a major independent retailer of camping and outdoor equipment. We are based in Chester and North Wales and were established over 15 years ago. Our approach of offering only quality branded tents, camping equipment, outdoor clothing and footwear at the best prices has seen the company grow rapidly to three shops.

We have a massive range of family camping tents, tents for festivals and backpacking. Whether you are an individual camper or part of a family or group we have the right tent and equipment for you in our large showrooms and our staff will be happy to help you selecting your equipment. Our staff have a wide range of experience in many different outdoor activities so will be able to offer you advice, whatever your needs.

Our stores have an ever changing catalogue of stock and as such may have offers and items that you cannot find online. We encourage you to visit us or give us a call if you cannot find the item you are looking for online, chances are we will have something that fits the bill.

Our largest store on Sealand Road is open from 9.30 until 18.00 Monday to Saturday with late night opening until 20.00 on a Thursday. The store is also open from 11.00 until 17.00 on a Sunday. Opening times during public holidays can change so please give the store a call if you wish to visit on these days.
